Cognor Holding S.A. is the leading company in the Cognor Capital Group (Cognor, Group, Company, Firm), operating in the Polish market and exporting its products abroad. The main business of the Group is the production of raw steel (semi-finished products, billets) and final steel products, which are produced from steel scrap, a significant portion of which is sourced internally. As a result, we are a vertically integrated producer. Other activities, which have a smaller impact on the Group's results, include the production of non-ferrous metal products, the collection of non-ferrous metal scrap, transport services, the stamping of roofing sheets, and real estate activities. Cognor S.A. was founded in 1991, initially focusing on the trading of steel products. Since 1994, it has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and in 2006 it became part of a larger industrial group involved in the production of steel products and the trading of metal scrap.

The Group uses the EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) technology in the production process, which involves melting scrap using a high-power electric arc.
The production stage based on EAF technology takes place at the Ferrostal Łabędy Branch in Gliwice and the HSJ Branch in Stalowa Wola. The Ferrostal Łabędy Branch in Kraków and the Ferrostal Łabędy Branch in Zawiercie house the rolling mills where hot-rolled long steel products are manufactured. The production process is also handled by the OM Szopienice Branch in Katowice, which produces bronze semi-finished products sold both domestically and internationally, as well as galvanizing fluxes sold on the domestic market.
